Vaccine-Induced Myocarditis

Vaccine-Induced Myocarditis

If you’re like most Americans, you grew up getting your routine shots. You probably took your kids for their childhood vaccines, too. You may have noticed that your children got many more vaccines than you remember getting. By the time a person turns 18 today, they have received well over 50 vaccines. And it doesn’t stop there. Now, adults are recommended to get multiple vaccines, including flu, COVID-19, shingles, and RSV. The list is ever-growing.

This vaccine business is BIG business. The pharma industry is making billions off kids’ vaccines. Doctors’ practices are full because of the vaccine schedule AND dealing with the adverse effects.

Like many, you’ve likely been told that vaccines are key to maintaining health. Yet there’s a growing discussion about potential side effects, particularly around certain vaccines and myocarditis – an inflammation of the heart.

What is Myocarditis?

Myocarditis is a medical condition that causes inflammation of the heart muscle known as the myocardium. This inflammation can reduce the heart’s ability to pump blood effectively, leading to chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, and heart rhythm problems.

The severity of myocarditis can vary widely. Some people may experience mild symptoms or even none at all. Others may face severe or life-threatening issues. In serious cases, myocarditis can weaken the heart, leading to heart failure, abnormal heartbeat, and even sudden cardiac death.

What Does the Data Show About the Covid Shots?

We have only begun to scratch the surface of heart damage that occurs as a result of vaccines. As a cardiologist with over 20 years of experience, I’m observing a surge in cases of myocarditis and related symptoms in my patients. This pattern is unprecedented in my career and data is finally emerging to support what many of us as physicians have seen in practices.

A recent study focused on understanding how COVID-19 vaccines might affect the heart. The researchers used a type of imaging called PET/CT scans to compare the heart activity of people who had and who had not received the COVID-19 vaccine.

They discovered that those vaccinated had more inflamed heart muscles than those who weren’t vaccinated. This activity was measured up to six months after patients received their second vaccine dose, suggesting a longer-term effect of the vaccine on the heart.

The study is significant because it looked at vaccinated and unvaccinated people who did not show any symptoms of heart problems (asymptomatic), providing a broader understanding of the vaccine’s effects. The study indicates a difference in heart muscle behavior between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.

The concerns about vaccines and heart health are more than just numbers on a page. They are grounded in real-world cases and studies. For instance, a report highlights the experiences of two 16-year-old males diagnosed with myocarditis following their vaccinations. Research shows that young adult males are particularly susceptible to heart health issues after receiving the vaccine.

Moreover, a study from 2023 found that over half of those experiencing vaccine-related myocarditis still had symptoms after six months. These are not isolated cases. A quick glance at the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) shows over 41,000 myocarditis cases due to the COVID-19 vaccine. This number is likely low since many vaccinated people probably don’t know they’ve been impacted.

Is My Doctor Being Untruthful?

You may be wondering: if the vaccine may cause myocarditis, why did my doctor tell me that it’s safe?

It’s entirely possible that your doctor, like most Americans, has been unaware of the risks associated with the Covid vaccine. In 2021, the CDC prepared a draft alert regarding a possible connection between myocarditis and COVID-19 vaccines, especially mRNA vaccines. This draft was created following several reports of myocarditis cases post-vaccination.

Unfortunately, the alert was never officially issued due to concerns that it might cause public panic. Instead the CDC released a document acknowledging an increase in reported myocarditis cases following mRNA vaccinations while continuing to recommend the vaccine for most age groups.

So while the data and information are there, it’s been hidden from the public including your doctor. Big Pharma is a powerful industry with the ability to manipulate public perception.

In short, we have NO IDEA about the long-term effects of vaccine-induced myocarditis. My estimate is that it’s not a good prognosis leading to heart rhythm disorders like AFIB, cardiomyopathy, and heart attacks.

Can Other Vaccines Cause Myocarditis?

It’s indeed possible that other vaccines can lead to myocarditis. Vaccines work by stimulating the immune system to create a response. In some people this response can be exaggerated, leading to inflammation in various parts of the body including the heart. This overreaction might explain why myocarditis occurs after vaccines.

Studies have shown a rise in myocarditis after other vaccines. VAERS data shows that myocarditis is most commonly associated with the smallpox and anthrax vaccines. It’s also linked to the Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), hepatitis B, and inactivated influenza (flu) vaccine.

It’s important to note that VAERS data is known to reflect less than 1% of the actual number of people impacted by the vaccines. Many people are unaware of the reporting system, while others do not always connect myocarditis with vaccinations.

What Can I Do After the Shot?

Our bodies are meant to be healthy and can naturally fend off illness without relying on vaccinations. It’s about trusting the body’s innate strength and resilience while adopting an approach to health that includes Eat Well, Live Well, Think Well.

If you think you may have suffered myocarditis or just have general concerns after the shot or shot series, we can help.

About Dr. Lauren Lattanza NMD, FACC

Dr. Lattanza Office Visit with Patient

As a Naturopathic Physician, I am trained to treat the whole person and get to the root cause of disease.

I went to Arizona State University where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a depth in physiology and minor in Spanish. After my undergraduate degree I was working on prerequisite classes towards medical school, which is when I came to learn that my values identified best with the principles of naturopathic medicine. I knew that I wanted to help patients identify the causes of disease and be able to offer treatments which would improve their health rather than simply treating symptoms.

I dedicated the next 4 years to the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona where I attained my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. I served as Class President all 4 years, Board of Trustees – Student Trustee, spoke as the Club President for our branch of Toastmasters, and was voted by my peers and attending physicians to earn the Outstanding Leadership Award for the Class of 2020. Throughout medical school I took it upon myself to work alongside MDs, DOs, chiropractors, and functional medicine practitioners in addition to naturopathic physicians.

As a Spanish speaking student, I was able to volunteer with community clinics around Phoenix and provide free healthcare to low-income families. Due to this combined exposure, I came to find my passion in treating cardiometabolic and digestive disorders that are all too common, yet largely preventable. I took the opportunity to learn the broad spectrum of healthcare so I can ensure that I am able to provide my patients with the best options.
