Your New Favorite Liver Recipe: I Promise!


Liver is one of those superfoods teeming with essential nutrients, B Vitamins, Vitamin A, choline and iron. Liver provides well over 100% of the RDI for many essential nutrients and ALL of the essential amino acids.

This organ was once revered but has fallen out of favor and been crowded out by too many antibiotic laden meats cooked in seed oils!

For many, it isn’t easy to adjust to the thought of eating liver! But cooking it up with lots of bacon, sage and onions is the way to go! Try this recipe and let us know what you think!

  • 1 lb. grass fed beef liver chopped into bite size pieces ( you can also use chicken liver)
  • 5 (or more) pieces of bacon chopped into bite size pieces
  • ½ – ¾  large onion chopped
  • 4 tbsp. fresh sage chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: balsamic vinegar and olive oil for drizzling

Sauté the bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from the pan and add onion, cook until soft and lightly browned. Add chopped liver and cook until pink inside. Add fresh sage and sauté to release flavors. Stir bacon back in. Place on a plate on top of arugula and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Nasturtiums add nutrients and beauty!
